A baby moon in Koh Samui

I’m not sure where the “baby moon” idea came from or even if many expecting parents take them but I have to say, I’m a big fan. Simply put it’s some special time away with just you and your other half before baby arrives and life is turned upside down and inside out – in a good way of course!
Ozdane and I decided to go to Koh Samui, Thailand for a long weekend for some rest and relaxtion together for our baby moon. Less than two hours from Singapore makes it one of the perfect get-away destinations. Some were probably suprised we didn’t choose Bali which is usually our go-to spot but it was nice to go somewhere different for this occassion.
During our time in Koh Samui we stayed at the exquisite Four Seasons Koh Samui Resort and we literally never left the property. There was no need to leave since everything we wanted for our blissful time away was at our fingertips. I think the most active thing I did the entire time was walk up some stairs to meet the buggy to take us to the spa. Yes, hard work I know.
I can’t say enough about how impressed I was with the resort. Upon arrival we were surprised with an upgrade to a large beach villa right on the beach with the largest, private pool I’ve ever seen in a one-bedroom villa. Thank you beautiful universe! We fell asleep to the sound of the waves. We spent plenty of time lounging on our huge daybed in our outdoor living room area or taking a dip in our refreshing pool or the ocean which was just steps away. The service was outstanding and the Thai people are always such a pleasure. We definitely will be going back to the Four Seasons Koh Samui and the next time with Baby P. in tow.

One of my favorites this week is Cozy up around grand fireplaces in the North Carolina mountains by Leigh Hines of Hines-Sight Blog. Living in Singapore I miss the seasons so this post was a special treat for me where I could pretend I was experiencing the cozy fall season. Thank you Leigh!
Happy baby moon! What a lovely idea, I wish I had had time to do something like that. You picked a lovely location for the Baby Moon also.
Thank you!! I loved the idea when I heard about it too. It was just what we needed last weekend so the timing was great.
Baby moon… Why did we not think of this!! Enjoy rest of the wait, I look forward to meeting the little one via Instagram
Thank you! Yes, I’ll definitely be sharing photos of Baby P. on Instagram once he/she is here.
Stunning does not even begin to describe it. So glad you were able to take this time- and in such a lovely setting.
I kept pinching myself when we were there because I couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was. I’m glad we were able to take the time also. Thank you!
Waw! Now THAT’s a babymoon!!! Good job!
Thanks for stopping by Alla! It was quite a baby moon. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Katy, you know I was swooning when I saw your trip on Instagram. I love a Four Seasons and know this had to be fabulous. Thank you so much for the shout out. This is such an exciting time in your lives right now.
Thanks for such a nice note, Leigh. It made me smile. Yes indeed, it’s a very exciting time right now. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. It really was one of the best resorts I’ve stayed at in my travels.
I love the baby-moon concept! We where on ours exactly one year ago in Hawaii and since then… Not so much traveling
I know, it’s a great concept isn’t it? Thanks for stopping by. I have a feeling that may be the case with us and travel after the baby arrives too!
I love the way you have described the places everyone should visit in Singapore. If you are an expat and plan on moving to Singapore, do check out http://www.placematch.sg. I found it to be very useful in finding a place.
Couldn’t think of a more perfect place to babymoon.
